Lead & Copper Service Line Reporting
The Juniper Riviera County Water District (JRCWD) recently conducted an inventory of all water service lines, including the pipes that connect your home or building to the water main. The inventory aims to identify the materials used in these service lines and fittings, including the customer-owned side of the water service line.
JRCWD has thoroughly inspected all service lines under its care (from the water main to the meter) and confirmed no lead pipes are present. However, the portion of the pipe from the meter to your home (your responsibility) may not yet have been verified, and its material is unknown, meaning it could contain lead.
We encourage customers to assist JRCWD in identifying the material of their service line. The links provided below provide resources and guidance on how to determine your service line material.
Is my water affected?
JRCWD routinely monitors the distribution system for lead, and the subsequent scheduled water sampling will occur in the summer of 2025.
Based on the previously tested results:
- This is not an emergency.
- Your water is safe to drink and meets federal and state safe drinking water standards.
- You do not need an alternative water supply (e.g., bottled water).
